Health Services Administration

Administrators lead and supervise organizations, businesses and agencies. Health care administration is growing as the health care industry becomes more diversified. Health services administration is the field responsible for the management of all aspects of healthcare including patient care, health education, and health research. Administration of health services work in every organization or institution that is connected to the health care industry including hospitals, nursing homes, health maintenance organizations, government agencies, outpatient clinics, and research institutions. The health administration job includes budget development, supervising employees, and coordinating patient services. Administrators also help develop health services in community agencies through volunteer work and discuss health issues with health associations and professional groups. Most health services administrators hold graduate degrees.
